With a family of twelve children arriving in Woodlands, the Milne's would have doubled the population in Woodlands overnight. I am going to continue the Milne's family story with Jane their eldest.
Jane does not appear on the Jessie Gilbert passenger list with the rest of the Milne family. Jane married John Forbes (b. 1842) a year earlier in 1864 in Skene, Aberdeen. John travelled to Bluff, Southland aboard the William Davie in 1866 we can only assume Jane travelled with him.
Jane and John had three children.
Jane Isobella "Jennie" was born in 1874 at the age of 25 in 1898 Jennie married James Florence sadly a year later Jennie died and is buried at Woodlands cemetery.
