James and Agnes second son, James was born on the 1875. From 1896 - 1900 James works as a farm labourer in Clinton? Not alway easy to tell all the James Murray apart. It was not until 1908, aged 33 James married Agnes Lucy Blanch (1884-1968). (m.1908/5787). Agnes was 24 years old when she was married JAmes. Her parents were John and Frances Blanch, born in Riverton, Agnes was one of eleven children.

James and Agnes had three children.
Mavis Frances born on 15 October 1908 (b.1908/25599) and Jennie Victoria born on the 1st August 1911 (b.1911/25346) neither married and they appeared to have travel up to Christchurch at the same time in 1935. Mavis would have been 27 years old and Jeannie 24 years old. Mavis address was c/o McEvedy Bros. and Jennie was living at 75 Aikmans Road. By 1946 both have relocated to Nelson, Mavis at 266 Hardy street and Jennie a few doors down at at 270 Hardy Street. In 1969 Mavis's occupation is Cook until then she was recorded as a Spinster! Jennie, at the young age of 58, died on the 5 May 1970 (d.1970/46151). Mavis lived another 20 years her address was 3/81 Groves Street when she died aged 81 in 1990 (d.1990/30571).The sisters are buried together at the Marsden Valley cemetery in Nelson.
James Norman was born on the 25 Sept 1914 (b.1914/29193). In 1935 James was working as a farm hand at Waipahi. At the age of 26 on July 1941 James was called up to serve with the 2nd NZEF (Driver Reg. No 46443). James returned home to his life farming at Waipahi residing there until his death on 26 July 1975 aged 60 (d.1975/40088). James is buried at the Waipahi Cemetery.
Agnes and James lived in Waipahi until their deaths. James died on 5th May 1941 at the age of 67 years (d.1941/21475). Agnes lived another 27 years until 1968, she died in Nelson aged 83 years (d.1968/35953).
